V4Rs is “Built to win”
And win it has already in 2023, under Tadej Pogacar winning the Paris-Nice as well as the Vuelta a Andalucia.
What have Colnago improved on the V3?
Quite a lot actually:
Aerodynamically; they’ve managed to find an impressive 27watts (6% less drag) at 30mph, you can fit a 32mm tyre and they have improved the cable entrance into the bike – so no more D-steerer.
Stiffness; here Colnago have done some “real world calculations” and worked out the improved stiffness when pedalling seated (6%) and sprinting (4%)
Raceability; improved geometry has improved the handling, with the ubiquitous slight reduction in weight (56 grammes), also they recognise that race bikes occasionally hit the deck and so they have also improved the robustness of the frame, for example with the seat stays.
All in all, they are quite a few tidy improvements on the V3Rs, and we just love the team replicas!!!
